Nasolabial folds/Smile lines

Nasolabial folds or smile lines are two skin folds that run on each side of the nose all the way to the corners of the mouth. They can be very superficial lines or deep folds.

They are caused by gradual facial volume loss that happens with ageing, when the facial fat pads, uniformly distributed in the face, during a younger age, start migrating downwards. As a consequence of this downwards migration the cheeks become heavier and their descent creates these nasolabial folds that become more and more prominent with the act of smiling or laughing.

Naso labial folds can be treated with a combination of aesthetic treatments such as:

Dermal fillers,  are made out of Hyaluronic Acid, a substance naturally occurring in the body. They are used to smooth fine lines and wrinkles and to restore facial volume in multiple areas. Dermal fillers are a very effective and minimally invasive way of restoring volume loss, reshaping and contouring.

Microneedling with or without PRP, it stimulates the production of new Collagen creating a controlled injury to the skin in the form of microchannels. This results in a younger, smoother, plumper and brighter looking skin. It can be used on its own or in combination with Platelets Rich Plasma (PRP) or growth factors serums.

Polynucleotides, which are a sequesnce of nucleotides that, once injected, target the fibroblasts to produce more collagen and elastin. By doing so they aid skin regeneration and tissue repair, they also increaseskinh hydration and hyaluronic acid synthesis.

Exosomes, which are extracellular vescicles. This treatment aids tissue regeneration, softening fine lines and wrinkles, tightening loose and aged skin, hydrating the skin, improving skin tone and texture.

HIFU,

stands for High intensity focused ultrasound. HIFU reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, helps to lift and firm sagging skin as well as rejuvenates the overall appearance, by stimulating collagen production. It’s also very effective in reducing stubborn fat deposits in multiple areas. It’s a completely non invasive treatment and has zero downtime.

Nasolabial folds are caused by a loss of volume in the cheeks.
