What is Aqualyx and how does it work?

Aqualyx is a solution used for non surgical fat reduction.

It works by destroying fat cells in the targeted areas. The fat is then eliminated via the lymphatic system.

What can I expect form the treatment?

After just one injection of Aqualyx you can achieve up to 1.5 inches loss, if you follow the after care instructions properly.

The product is mixed with Lidocaine for comfort.

From 1 hour after the treatment you will feel a stinging sensation. This is totally normal and means the product is working on the fat cells.

Who will perform the treatment:

The treatment is performed by Dr Cristina and it’s delivered using very fine needles.

How long does the treatment take?

The treatment takes a bout 30 minutes. Multiple areas require longer time.

Prior to the treatment you will have to schedule a consultation with the Doctor to be assessed for suitability, to discuss goals and to choose the best treatment option for you.

During this consultation you’ll be made aware of treatment’s benefits and side effects and you will have to sign a consent form.

How long do the results last for:

Results become evident after one month form the treatment and they will be retained, unless weight gain happens.

Are there any side effects?

Common side effects are:

• Pain or stinging at the injection site
• Swelling, redness, mild bleeding and bruising at the injection site
• Numbness

All these usually settle spontaneously within a few days after the treatment.

What is the downtime and after care?

Fat dissolving injections have little down time, you can go back to work and resume your activities the day after the treatment.

However there are some recommendations to follow in order to maximize the effects of your treatment. They will be discussed during the consultation.
