FAQ
What is Mesotherapy and how does it work
Mesotherapy consists of multiple microinjections of a cocktail containing Vitamins, Amino Acids, Hyaluronic acid, Enzymes, Hormones and plant extracts, in the mesoderm, the mid layer of the skin.
All these substances stimulate the fibroblasts production of Collagen, the substance responsible for skin rejuvenation and repair.
This results in a younger, smoother, plumper and brighter looking skin.
What can I expect from the treatment?
Mesotherapy works very well in softening the appearance of cellulite by stimulating the Fibroblasts to produce more collagen.
The aim is to provide intense hydration to the skin while also providing a tightening and lifting effect and improving skin quality.
Who will perform the treatment?
The treatment is performed by Dr Cristina.
It’s delivered using very small needles, through multiple micro injections.
Prior to the treatment, a Lidocaine cream is applied onto the skin, to render the treatment as comfortable and painless as possible.
It’s very well tolerated, with most people reporting only mild discomfort.
Mesotherapy can be used in combination with PRP, Polynucleotides and Exosomes.
How long does the treatment take?
The treatment takes about 45 minutes.
Prior to the treatment you will have to schedule a consultation with the Doctor to be assessed for suitability, to discuss goals and to choose the best treatment option for you.
During this consultation you’ll be made aware of treatment’s benefits and side effects and you will have to sign a consent form.
How long do the results last for?
Results start becoming apparent few weeks after treatment and they last for about 6 months, after which a maintenance session will be required.
Are there any side effects?
Common side effects are:
- Pain or tenderness
- Swelling, redness, mild bleeding and bruising
- Numbness, tightness
All these usually settle spontaneously within a few days after treatment.
What is the downtime and after care?
Mesotherapy has no down time. You can go back to work and resume your activities the day after your treatment. The papules can last up to 48 hours.
There are some recommendations to follow in order to maximize the effects of your treatment such as:
- Do not apply make up for 12 hours
