  1. What is Mesotherapy and how does it work?

Mesotherapy consists of multiple microinjections of a cocktail containing Vitamins, Amino Acids, Hyaluronic acid, Enzymes, Hormones and plant extracts, in the mesoderm, the mid layer of the skin.

All these substances stimulate the fibroblasts production of Collagen, the substance responsible for skin rejuvenation and repair.

This results in a younger, smoother, plumper and brighter looking skin.

  1. What conditions can be treated with Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy can be injected into face, neck, décolletage and hands and various body areas such as Underarms, Inner thighs, Abdomen, Knee region.

It is a safe, effective and minimally invasive treatment.

It can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Loose, saggy, dry, crepey skin

  1. What can I expect from the treatment?

Mesotherapy works very well in reversing the skin ageing process by stimulating the Fibroblasts to produce more collagen.

The aim is to provide intense hydration to the skin while also providing a tightening and lifting effect, by smoothing fine lines and wrinkles and improving skin quality.

This results in a younger, smoother, plumper and brighter looking skin.

  1. Who will perform the treatment?

The treatment is performed by Dr Golfomitsos, it’s delivered using very small needles, through multiple microinjections.

Prior to the treatment, a Lidocaine cream is applied onto the skin, to render the treatment as comfortable and painless as possible.

The treatment is very well tolerated, with most people reporting only mild discomfort.

  1. How long does the treatment take?

The treatment takes about 45-60 minutes.

Prior to the treatment you will have to schedule a consultation with the Doctor to be assessed for suitability, to discuss goals and to choose the best treatment option for you.

During this consultation you’ll be made aware of treatment’s benefits and side effects and you will have to sign a consent form.

  1. How long do the results last for?

Results start becoming apparent few weeks after treatment and they last for about 6 months, after which a maintenance session will be required.

  1. Are there any side effects?

Common side effects are:

  • Pain or tenderness
  • Swelling, redness, mild bleeding and bruising
  • Numbness, tightness

All these usually settle spontaneously within a few days after treatment.

  1. What is the downtime and after care?

Mesotherapy has no down time. You can go back to work and resume your activities the day after your treatment. The papules can last up to 48 hours.

There are some recommendations to follow in order to maximize the effects of your treatment such as:

  • Do not apply make up for 12 hours
  • Do not perform heavy exercise for 48 hours
  • Do not sunbathe for 48 hours
  • Avoid alcohol consumption for 12 hours
  • Don’t have any other clinical treatments for 1 week post treatment.
