Hair Loss

Hair loss is a physiological process that happens throughout live.

A more pronounced hair loss can be triggered by hormonal changes, iron deficiency anemia, poor diet, stress, chemotherapy, weight loss. This type of hair loss is usually transitory and tends to resolve by addressing the underlying cause.

There is a permanent hair loss, usually caused by genetic factors. It’s very common in males but can occur in females as well. It manifests under the form of baldness or alopecia.

There are some topical treatment such as Minoxidil, which promotes hair growth in patients with androgenic alopecia. It must be used indefinitely for ongoing support of hair follicles.

Some oral medications are also used to treat male pattern hair loss such as 5 alpha reductase inhibitors.

Alongside topical and oral treatments there’s plenty of very effective medical aesthetic treatments such as:

Platelets Rich Plasma (PRP)

Plasma is the liquid part of blood that provides a vehicle for red cells, white cells and platelets to circulate throughout the body.

Platelets are blood cells, responsible for clot formation and they are essential for the body’s regenerative and healing process. They are very rich in growth factors.

PRP is obtained by taking a sample of your blood that is then spun in a centrifuge for few minutes, to separate the red cells, that get discarded, form the plasma containing platelets.

The PRP obtained is then injected or microneedled into the chosen area to treat.

With ageing, hair becomes thinner. Also the rate of hair growth significantly slows down and hair loss becomes more pronounced

The growth factors, contained inside the Platelets, stimulate the hair follicle to produce stronger, healthier hair.

PRP is a great treatment option for baldness, in both men and women. It stops further hair loss and promotes re growth of stronger, thicker hair. It’s a great alternative to hair transplant.

The number of treatments needed depends on degree of hair loss and thinning.

Usually a minimum of 3 treatments, with 4 weeks intervals, is needed to achieve optimal results.

It’s even more effective when used in conjunction with Mesotherapy and Polynucleotides.

Polynucleotides

Polynecleotides are a sequence of nucleotides, as in DNA or RNA, bound into a chain and incapsulated into an injectable gel.

Once injected they target Fibroblasts cells and stimulate them to increase Collagen and Elastin production.

They are a Regenerative Medicine tool.

They have several biological effects on the scalp such as:

Stimulation of cells proliferation, especially fibroblasts

Collagen and Elastin synthesis

Increased skin hydration

    • Angiogenesis induction (new blood vessels production)

All of the above stimulate the hair follicle to grow stronger, thicker hair.

They can be used in association with Microneedling, PRP, Exosomes and LED.

Exosomes

Exosomes are extracellular vesicles, naturally released by all cells types.

Extracellular vesicles play a crucial role in in intercellular communication, transporting bio active molecules such as proteins, lipids and nucleic acids between cells.

Regenerative medicine aims to regenerate various tissues by enhancing the body’s natural ability to heal and repair.

Small extracellular vesicles have been used in many different areas of regenerative medicine, including medical aesthetics.

One advantage of using small extracellular vesicles in regenerative medicine is that they do not trigger an immune response .

They stimulate cell migration and proliferation, angiogenesis, DNA repair, increase number of fibroblasts, boost anti inflammatory response .

Benefits of Exosomes treatment on the scalp

Enhanced cellular activity: they promotes proliferation of crucial cells in the hair follicle, including stem cells and outer root sheath cells

Regulating inflammation and immune response: this aspect is particularly important in patients with inflammatory diseases such as psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis

Hair cycle regulation

Angiogenesis promotion

Beta catenin activation

Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy consists of multiple microinjections of a cocktail containing Vitamins, Amino Acids, Hyaluronic acid, Enzymes, Hormones and plant extracts, in the mesoderm, the mid layer of the skin.

All these substances stimulate the fibroblasts production of Collagen, the substance responsible for tissue rejuvenation and repair.

When injected into the scalp they act directly on the hair follicle stimulating growth of stronger, thicker, healthier hair.

It can be used in combination with other treatment modalities such as Polynucleotides, Exosomes, PRP and LED.

LED

LED Phototherapy is a fantastic non-invasive treatment that uses therapeutic light energy to trigger the skin natural rejuvenation and repair processes. It’s completely painless and has no downtime.

Our skin has the ability to absorb light energy and uses it to stimulate and regulate essential cell processes.

After phototherapy skin cells can renew up to 200 % faster. In terms of treating the scalp LED stimulates the hair follicle directly to produce stronger, thicker hair.

Dermalux uses a medically proven combination of Blue, Red and Near Infrared light to boost collagen production, increase hydration, calm irritation and redness and eliminate bacteria induced problems such as acne.

The Blue light destroys the bacteria. It’s particularly effective in conditions where the skin is irritated.

The Red light is a rejuvenating light which energises cells to accelerate renewal, boost collagen and elastin production and increase hydration. All this results in thicker, stronger hair.

The Near Infrared light offers advanced rejuvenation benefits, promotes healthy skin, calms redness and irritation.

This light is ideal to treat psoriasis and other inflammatory diseases.

We can use all three lights in combination to boost and accelerate results.

All the described treatments stop further hair loss and favour re growth of stronger, thicker hair, by targeting the hair follicle directly.

They are all great alternatives to hair transplant. They are more affordable and have less downtime and complications.
